To choose a maison, six questions are enough: where do its diamonds and gold come from, what quality does it guarantee, does it publish its prices, who makes the ring, where and how do you meet it, and has it designed the wedding band together with the ring. Here are the answers of Origine Paris, a Paris maison founded in 2026, to make the comparison easy.
1. Lab-grown diamonds, and nothing else
Origine Paris sells only lab-grown diamonds. No double catalogue: the house made this choice for all its pieces, engagement rings, wedding bands, stud earrings, pendants and bracelets.
2. One quality only: D, VS at minimum, IGI report
Every diamond is D colour, the whitest, and VS1 or VS2 clarity at minimum. From 0.5 carat, it comes with its IGI report, whose number is laser-inscribed on the stone. There is no "lesser" option: this is the house's minimum. Always compare the characteristics on the report, not just the number of carats.
3. Published prices, the same for all five shapes
The house publishes all its prices on its Our Prices page. The Classique, a solitaire in recycled 18-carat gold, starts at €2,350 for one carat and €2,890 for two carats; it comes in five shapes, round, oval, cushion, emerald cut and east-west emerald cut, at the same price. The pavé band version starts at €2,850.
4. Made to order
Each ring is made after the order, in six to eight weeks, by partner workshops in Lyon and in Valenza, Italy, in recycled 18-carat gold. Delivery is complimentary, by secure shipment with signature.
5. An appointment at rue de la Paix, or remotely
The house receives by appointment at 21 rue de la Paix, Paris 2nd, in the salons of Club Gustave Collection, and by video call or telephone. The appointment is for trying the shapes and the golds, and for taking the size.
6. Engagement and wedding, coordinated
A good maison thinks about the wedding band at the same time as the ring. The Classique has its curved-profile band, designed to fit the setting and sit against the engagement ring. The Signature line, the house's other wedding line, offers a two-carat ring and its band, in the same spirit. The fitting lets you see the pair on the hand.
What sets Origine Paris apart
Its co-founder, Marie-Ann Wachtmeister, co-founded the first house on Place Vendôme to work exclusively with lab-grown diamonds and recycled gold. Origine Paris carries that standard forward, with published prices and a single diamond quality.
