L'or : de l'extraction à votre bijou - Origine Paris

Gold: From Mining to Your Jewellery

The traceability of gold is one of the most important and least visible issues in contemporary fine jewellery. When you wear a gold jewel, where does that metal come from? Under what conditions was it extracted? Who worked it, and at what cost to people and the planet?

These are questions Origine Paris has asked itself since its founding. And we have provided a clear answer: exclusively recycled 18-carat gold.

Why Recycled Gold?

Gold has a unique property: it is infinitely recyclable without any loss of quality. Recycled gold presents exactly the same properties as virgin gold — the same colour, the same malleability, the same purity. There is no compromise on the quality of the final piece of jewellery.

The environmental impact, however, is radically different. Recycling existing gold — whether from used jewellery or electronic waste — involves no extraction, no deforestation, no chemical contamination.

Certified and Traceable Gold

The gold we use comes from certified, traceable circuits. We can trace its origin from recycling sources to our Parisian ateliers. This traceability is not anecdotal — it is a guarantee that your piece of jewellery is part of a supply chain consistent with our commitments.

18 Carats: The Purity of Fine Jewellery

The choice of 18 carats (750/1000) is not accidental. It has been the standard of French fine jewellery for generations — the one that offers the finest balance between gold purity (75%) and the strength needed to create lasting jewels that hold diamonds with precision.

Every Origine Paris piece is created in Paris, by hand, by master jewellers. Recycled gold meets lab-grown diamond to create a luxury without compromise — neither on quality, nor on ethics.
